On May 12, Kim made a start against the KT Wiz in Suwon, tossing five innings while allowing just one earned run to secure his fifth win of the season. Mixing a fastball that topped out at 148 km/h with a curveball, slider, and changeup, he efficiently recorded outs and showcased his growing maturity on the mound. With that victory, Kim moved into sole possession of first place in the KBO’s wins leaderboard, maintaining a perfect personal winning percentage.
Notably, SSG has posted a 7-1 record in the eight games Kim has started in 2026, an impressive .875 winning percentage. His consistency has helped propel the team into fourth place in the standings with a 20-16-1 record,
