The publication stated that the “story” posted by the French striker on his Instagram account, where he wrote “Hala Madrid” while the team was trailing 2-0 against Barcelona in El Clásico—a match that decided the league title—was a “bad-taste joke” that not even Real Madrid’s worst enemies could have imagined.
It added that what Mbappé did “was no coincidence” but rather reflected his mindset and the behavior of those around him, who prioritize his personal interests over the club’s.
*Sport* explained that Mbappé now lives in his own world, functioning more as a brand than as a player within a collective system. It pointed out that his departure from the final training session just five minutes before El Clásico, despite the team’s need for him, was “further evidence that he makes his own decisions, far from the club’s authority.”
The newspaper stressed that Real Madrid shares part of the blame for this situation, having excessively idolized the player since his arrival.
