Roman Rotenberg, First Vice President of the Russian Ice Hockey Federation, spoke about the significance of Victory Day on May 9, which marks the 81st anniversary of the Soviet Union’s victory in the Great Patriotic War. Players from Russia’s junior and youth national teams, along with students of the “Krasnaya Mashina Junior” academy, visited Patriot Park for commemorative events.
“We are gathered here and can see the bond between generations. It is crucial that our national team players and academy students know the history of our country. It is important to honor the memory of those who fought for our nation’s freedom,” Rotenberg said.
“Every year, May 9 has been a great holiday since childhood — emotions simply overflow. I bow deeply to every veteran who contributed to this. Thanks to their heroic deeds, we are here today.”
